SMC Shipping & Lighterage Corp, a division of Southeast Asia's largest food and beverage firm San Miguel Corporation, has returned to Kegoya Dock in Japan for a 3,500 cu.m. pressurized vessel for delivery in mid-2016, according to broker reports in Oslo.

No price has been given for the newbuild.

The Philippine shipowner took delivery of another Kegoya-built ship in 2012. It owns another two small gas carriers plus a range of barges, tugs, product tankers and a livestock carrier. Best known for its beers, San Miguel is also a significant name in the local energy sector as owner of Petron Corp.
