Chinese listed shipyard Xiamen Shipbuilding Industry Co., Ltd. (XSI) signed a letter of intent with Finland-based Viking Line on Nov. 23 to build a passenger ship worth as much as EUR190m. The Chinese shipyard will ink the formal contract with the latter in the spring of next year. It will be the world’s largest passenger vessel powered by LNG.

The newbuild is expected to be delivered in the spring of 2020.

The vessel features 218 meters in length and can carry 2,800 people. Upon delivery, it will be deployed in the Finland-Sweden route.
